Are you getting ready to move?
If you know there is an impending move in your future, you may want to try to use up or get rid of some of your items in order to save time and space (and ultimately money).
For example if you have a lot of food in your refrigerator or cabinets, why not start using them up so that they don’t have to be moved? Packing and caring for food items that need to be kept cold or frozen can be way more than you want to handle on a busy moving day. So why not get them eaten and not have to deal with that worry? You may want to reduce the canned goods and boxed items that you can to avoid moving those heavy boxes as well.
Are there things you have been hanging on to that you really don’t use any longer? Or clothing items you haven’t worn in years? This may be a great time to drop off these items at your local consignment shop (for extra cash) or donate them to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army for a nice little tax write off.
Why move things you don’t have to? Start thinking about your move early and save time and money later.
Moving Tip: Remembering how to reconnect all of the wires in your TV or Stereo
Ever wonder how you are going to recall how to get all of those wires back where they belong? One good way is to take a picture of the back of the appliance and how they connect. When you get to your new location you can look at your pictures and reconnect with confidence.
With a lot of wires you can also wrap making tape along the wire, leaving a tab to write on. Then you can mark the ends with numbers or letters that match the two ends with where they go.
Starting early and being organized can get you up and running in no time!
