End of Year Tax Planning

No, we are not going to give you tax advice. Really? Would you look for that from your moving company? I hope not.

WNC Charities

End of year tax planning would have to include end of year charitable giving. These givings need to be done by December 31st. And we would like to recommend a few of our favorite charities here in Western North Carolina.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is building no kill animal communities. Brother Wolf offers fostering and adoption from its center on Glendale Avenue in Asheville. Brother Wolf is a 501(c)3 organization so donations are tax deductible.

On over 80 acres in Leicester, Brother Wolf is looking to build a sanctuary where those animals that need time and quiet – truly, the adoption center is great but seldom quiet – to heal can be placed. This sanctuary will also take farm animals. You can find out more about the plans and links to being a founding donor here.

Manna FoodBank

MANNA FoodBank is a private, not-for-profit service organization, that links the food industry with over 200 partner agencies in 16 counties of WNC. MANNA is an acronym and stands for Mountain Area Nutritional Needs Alliance. We are a member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization. Together we can solve hunger.

1 in 6 people, and 1 in 4 children, in Western North Carolina face a daily struggle with hunger. For every dollar donated to MANNA, we can provide enough food for 3.5 meals. That means just $25 can provide more than 87 meals for our most vulnerable community members, like children and seniors.

Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue

Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit Boxer rescue based out of Hickory, North Carolina.  Our current coverage area is throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and parts of Virginia.  All of our rescued Boxers are in FOSTER HOMES and are not kenneled at a facility.  This way, the dogs receive one on one care, as well as the love attention that only comes from being in a family environment.

To date, Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue successfully helped to saved over 1,200 dogs, and it is all thanks to help from supporters. BRBR takes pride in holding to a standard of never refusing a dog for medical reasons. Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations go directly to the care of our rescued Boxers and are tax deductible.
